Mari seeks to draw Hollywood film makers to Indonesia The Jakarta Post | Sun, 10/23/2011 6:55 PM Newly appointed Tourism and Creative Industry Minister Mari Elka Pangestu has promised to ease regulations on film making as part of efforts to lure foreign movie makers to Indonesia. “The government will encourage foreign directors and producers to shoot their movies in Indonesia,” Mari said on Sunday as quoted by Antara news agency. Mari said she would enact what she called “the one-door regulation” to woo international movie makers, especially Hollywood. She said she believed that such a move would help promote many places with natural beauty across the country. “It will have a significant impact [if Hollywood producers make movies in Indonesia]” she added. Among other places, Bali is a favored spot for film making. The latest major movie to portray the beauty of Bali was Ryan Murphy’s Eat, Pray, Love, which stars Julia Roberts. http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2011/10/23/mari-seeks-draw-hollywood-film-makers-indonesia.html
