Colin,
Bow and twist cannot be predicted from board thickness or planar
dimensions. Bow and twist are results of complex interactions of layup
grain orientation, board materials, copper densities, press temperature and
pressure, hold temperature and time, cooldown rates, etc, etc.

thanks for the suggestion about putting some text inside the cutout
area. one thing i tend to forget is that people do actually look at the
gerbers. i get in this mode where i think all they do is blindly submit
them to a machine and a pcb comes out the other end. i'll make a
readme file too.
Sorry that was Jim, "Geoff" and Linden.

Thanks Jim, Ian and Linden,
nope I was really hoping there was a conversion utility for polygon
outlines.
I just never use arcs enough to have a handle on them yet but they
are just the biggest pain to deal with since they may add a straight track
and then an arc smaller then desir
If you make the Electrical Grid 'Range' smaller (in Board Options) you may
be able to snap to the center of the pad and not the underlying polygon
tracks.

Do you have an Esoniq on-board sound chip? Go to creative lab's web site and download
the updated driver if you do.

Brad,
Which layer are you trying to place the arcs on?
I have used arcs in polygons on mechanical layers (to generate a
cross-hatch pattern indicating application of sealant, etc.) but had
problems doing it. I experienced difficulty in controlling them as well.

thanks peter,
recently we acquired some gerbers for a board that had a hole in it
that was used as a handle. i tweeked some of the silkscreening
and sent it off to advanced circuits and they produced the board with
no problem. i did call them and ask if they could do irregular holes

I have experienced problems with this method you describe many times
these problems are not immediately obvious
i suggest to start a new ddb and drag files in there for revision
or tuck them in a folder of the current ddb

Jim,
yes we have. We know how to do the arcs within a polygon outline,

whatever they seem to feel like doing on their own. (i.e. they seem to be

Hi all,
one of our engineers just stumped me with a question regarding using
arcs in a polygon outline. Has anybody ever found a method to better control
arcs when drawing polygon outlines? It seems that you can only get an arc if
you want 90 degrees and it happens to want to put the arc t

Things get screwy if you move a ddb to a different directory or copy to
a new filename, etc.
In my case I moved L146A.DDB to a new sub.
Later I rev'd the schematic, made a new netlist, stepped the pcb to PCB3
