Hi
I have had a few discussions previously on this list about the
connectivity models within 99SE and how I have had in some cases seen
errors where power ports are not treated as global when using Sheet
Symbols/Port connections.

Not easily would be an accurate answer I think.
I almost do the same as you.
To represent a mechanical part on the SCH (include in BOM) you really to
use SCH symbols, even a simple one and also a refdes and comment as you
say.
I tend to hide the comment as it is the longest string, afte

Just an observation of mine,
I think Mr Lomax already suggested that the manuals would probably be
better written by users, rather than developers, and he is most likely
correct.

much easier are most often missing, as the d

My Protel 99 SCH files actually show as 'Microsoft Schedule+

My Protel 99 PCB files actually show as 'PowerPCB Design' association
I have Win AutoUpdate disabled
I have Capture 9.2 installed, Plogic, PowerPcb and some others.

After a quick search for LiveDesign I came across this article
http://www.eetuk.com/bus/news/OEG20031119S0001
A few quotes from it, but please read the article for yourself,
"It is essentially the same methodology they would use to create a pc
board design, but now the platform is an FPGA," said
Prompted by Ivans comments below and my own curiosity as to what we are
waiting for,
Who else would like to see an Altium on-line demo or multimedia
presentation on what LiveDesign actually is?
If we are going to have to dump DXP in favour of waiting for Protel 2004
with LiveDesign, I do not thin
Seems this post got lost or I left the response too far down to notice

You can try this utility, it is free and comes with source code.

Due to time constraints I need to issue one of our partner companies
with a netlist rather than a completed board.
They use MG Board station as their layout tool.
Has anyone used the Board station V6 netlister in 99SE successfully?
Or can offer any advice on re-formatting or combining the files

I think you are being a bit hard here and overly critical of Protel
tools, if the tools were so bad why has Zarlink (Mitel, GPS) used them
for so long.
Some of your statements below show a certain unfamiliarity with the
tools which would be pre-requisite knowledge for a fair and honest

All I get out of it is run time error 13 type mismatch.
Is the procedure just open file, load csv and go?

Regardless of the board size the synchroniser DOES take more time than
just generating a netlist & import to PCB in the same design.
My designs are not physically big, but pretty dense, and made out of
many SCH sheets as we heavily re-use a lot of sheet 'blocks' for system

I replied to you with some things off-line. Too much traffic, not enough
Protel related content.
You really need to define your own security policy, and then see what
solutions best fit your enviroment & needs.

If you had read this, in the context it was intended you could have saved a

Of course you should, especially if the workstation shares time with
internet access and/or email. But remember, it is a safety cushion, not a
cure/solution.
