I placed my Protel 98 distribution on EBay, late last week.
Anyone interested in acquiring Protel DXP, who does not have an earlier version,
should find it particularly valuable. Protel is currently upgrading from 98 to DXP
for $2,995. List is $7,995.

2 good points. But OrCAD ports option was not on, and I believe the schematic
should be self contained and open without referencing a library. If I've
misunderstood this basic process, I welcome the opportunity to learn.

I will ask IT for an ftp site and email you directly. Please don't try to email
the 250 Mb.

My memory of has faded on 98 as that was another shop. However, the missing
parts import feature would be possibly due the fact that an external library
association is missing, or the library is not the actual one used for that
schematic. This symptom is evident E-Gad (P-CAD by no other n

Thanks AJ.
We do experience real problems opening P98 databases with P99SE, SP6, W2K.
Power ports are mostly missing or misplaced, sometimes whole components are
lost. This is an issue I raised during an Altium training course, but received
more sympathy than assistance. I will contact Protel fo

P98 files are (or should be) directly compatible with P99SE, (at least after
being imported into a P99SE database) and so
You tossed the CD? I guess the only legit way is to as Altium for a
replacement CD.

i don't think i have seen or recall that particular trouble
it might be worth (possibly easier) to chase that down
do you really mean power ports jumping as opposed to resistors spinning
or something like that?

Hello
We have large numbers of legacy boards created in P98 but no longer have
a copy of that software, having migrated to P99SE. I would like to
archive these projects in pdf format. Unfortunately the conversion of a
98 ddb into a 99SE ddb introduces lots of schematic errors - dropped or

Can anyone give me an idea of the "street value" of this license? Does
anyone know someone who may be interested?
