Hey folks. While cleaning my apartment at 4 in the morning, I turned on the
iPod and did about an hour or so worth of stream of consciousness chatting
regarding Pro Tools. I go through it's back story on how we got where we are
now, and tried to answer the 2 main questions that everyone's posing

Hi Slaw,
I just tested it now, and though the buttons dont seem intuitively placed, and
i have to interact with the transport cluster for it to work, scrubbing seems
ok, at least with the springy wheel thing. The actual jog doesn't seem to do
what its supposed to.
There are many buttons on thi

Hi Yuma,
The thing about the Shuttle Pro, from my recollection, having used it years ago
and having returned it, is that it basically recreated things one could easily
do with keyboard shortcuts. One thing that it claimed to facilitate was
scrubbing but it wasn't at all scrubbing. what it was w
Hi list,
I've got the contour shuttle pro for transport and editing tasks, and wondered
if this is still compatible as of pro tools 9.
I read around the net that it has been rendered compatible with pro tools up to
6 but from there the trail is lost.
Anyone use this one for transport control
Alright,
Just as i assumed, midi cluster doesn't seem to show up when its not there by
default. I rebooted and now its apparent, with all the controls previously
mentioned by Chuck.
This is odd, but i guess something that might be necessary to report to the pt
team?
I'm going to look for a ke
Hi Jake,
Welcome to the list. Yes, Pro tools is accessible but, as you may know,
everyone's definition of "accessible" is different. The question you ask is way
too big to answer in general so, if you could ask very specific questions, it's
easier to answer specific questions. Hope we can help
Hi Herman,
Under the Event menu, go to Time Operations and there's a Meter Change option.
Click on the value you wish to change, enter the new value, double check what
you entered, press Enter twice. Your new meter is there.

Yuma,
If all you wish to do is set the tempo manually, it's pretty easy. You can
follow the steps Chuck mentioned but, rather than tapping the t key, you can
simply enter a tempo value. One thing that's helpful in doing so is to click
the numeric text of the tempo value in the Transport window,

Hi Yuma,
Note editing is only accessible by scrubbing with a scrub/shuttle wheel. The
MIDI Event List is not yet accessible. If you have a control surface, scrub to
the note then hold shift while scrubbing over the note to select it.
Alternatively, once you've scrubbed or shuttled within a trac
To be clear, Command-[1], that is, 1 on the numeric keypad.
