Can someone elaborate?
For all I know, Samplitude has a way to detect drum hits already, I
just haven't come across it yet.
It was doable in Sonar using AudioSnap.

In the shortcut guide, it says that you can edit a memory location marker by
control-clicking it, and delete one by option-clicking it. How do you
actually find the marker with the mouse-pointer, in order to carry out those
clicks?
