Hi,
So, the best thing if one swants to use Protools is to use a KK keyboard, is
this correct?
Many thanks,
Christian

I am under the same impression of KK’s implementation being more in-depth and a
bit simpler with logic. But yeah the fact that its basically useless
accessibility wise without a KK keyboard and you can’t use it with any of the
many audio effects that are now NKS compatible on an audio track has
No, but I have considered it, as far as I know the implementation with Logic is
better than with Pro Tools, but this might be outdated info… I also would like
it to be accessible without the use of a NI keyboard connected, like when
you’re not in your studio…. But still interested, and still
are you using K K john. if so how do you find it.

just to add I think the other thing that decided me to give logic a run was the
fact i had a lot of old midi files to deal with for a client. With logic you
just open them up and it’s all there and you just start playing around with
sounds. I found in protools this was not so easy. As i had to
Editing is more intuitive in pro tools but can be done in logic if you take the
time to learn its workflow. Multi track recording is still a bit more annoying
than it should be from an accessibility standpoint but no real issues if you

Hi John as I say i’m quite new to it. I think the Main issue with using logic
is knowing what tracks are armed at any one time. Witch is probably fine if you
only want to record one or two tracks at a time. other logic users may have a
work around for this, but not sure.
For me I’ll continue
Hi Steve,
How good is the current state of accessibility in Logic compared with Pro
Tools? Where is Logic more accessible, and where is Pro Tools most accessible?
Best,

yeah. I’m very new to logic, but getting my head around it ok now. If it’s
music composition you are doing and if your mainly dealing with midi recording.
I’d think logic may be the better option. It just seems well set up for that
sort of work.then you’ve got all the loops and other things
Hi,
I don’t know that much about Logic, but from what I’ve heard, the built in soft
synths/instrument sounds are better in Logic, so it may be a better tool for
composing.

Hi all,
OK, so I have not posted much into this group, but I’d like to hear your
opinions.
I’ve got Logig Pro X installed, and I have been thinking about installing
ProTools and try to learn it. But, when it comes to music creation, may Logic
Pro X be a better alternative?

Many thanks for that will give it a try. I am still learning butI like it.

Hi Christian,
If you have the MIDI Event List open and you have made a selection, as you've
probably learned, you cannot use the up/down arrows. Apart from using
"insertion follows playback" (which has it's advantages and disadvantages), the
easiest way to update the Main counter is to press
Hi all,
I have just started to record MIDI in Protools 2018 and it works great.
However, I have a question.
If I want to use the MIDI event viewer to correct some notes, and I am playing
back my song, how do I pause at a given position?
Best regards and thanks,
Christian

Hi Christian,
I suggest you to browse through Youtube-tutorials (sometimes sighted people
describe what they do, sometimes they dont). You will need a little
patience in finding the way how things have to be done using voice over. As
far as I know there is just one Voiceover based tutorial out
That's an Inspector command so you have to enable the Inspector mode with the
Forward Slash key.

Hi all,
OK, so I now have figured out how to play, record and a few other things in
Protools and Flotools. But, has anyone some good recommendations on how I can
learn Protools, if there are any tutorials or whatever so that one can get into
it more quicker?
Best regards and thanks,
Hi again,
Just a question, if I have the mix window open and navigate to a track with VO
and then press t, shouldn’t the name of that track be spoken?
Nothing happens when I try to do that.
Many thanks,
Christian

You can leave macOS in whatever language you want. That shouldn’t be a problem.

Hi,
I will use Protools in English, but I was referring to the display language of
my Mac OS. I have however added English US as an input source.

If I were you I would stick to the English version of Pro Tools, if that’s what
you mean by display language. It’s OK if your operating system is in a language
other than English, but I think using Flo Tools with ProTools in a different
language will give you trouble.

By default, tracks are set to medium height when they're created. If you need
to change or verify that tracks are set to the same height, navigate to a track
in the Edit window (not in the Track List table but in the main part of the
window). Interact with the track and use the track options
Hi all,
OK, so I’ve finally installed Flotools and Protools 2018 but I have a question.
Where do I set track heights to medium?
And at last, if my display language is not set to English US, but my keyboard
is set to it, is that fine or should the display language also be set?
Many thanks,
Hi all,
OK, since I cannot get Flotools to work, due to the bug in VO on my High Sierra
system, I have some general question.
As a new Protools user, How do I view my tracks list on the screen?
And at last, any good resources you recommend get get started?
Many thanks,
Christian
