Sean, that's exactly what happens. I land in the Finder, or alternatively open
the Apple menu.
Also, when i want to route tracks to outputs, it works fine first, and then the
mouse tends to get stuck on the sends-menu, from which i can't make it move
again.

OK, I’m on the path to finding out exactly what’s going on with my
system as well. Like you, sometimes it’s working fine, and then the
next minute, voila! The mouse is off on its own merry way. All I
know is that like you, routing the mouse back doesn’t always work.

i'm running Yosemite, and PT 12.4. I should also mention that I'm using a
MacBook Pro, so when I say mouse I mean the TrackPad.
