When some people attempt a double-tap, they tend to try to press the keys
harder and this results in a slower execution of the double-tap. Try a light
touch and you'll soon get the hang of it. Dozens of users have had no issues.
It just might take a bit of getting used to it.

Hi. I am having a problem with flotools where it is very difficult to
double tap a command i.e. commane+f1 for instance. I have to tap very
quickly between the two taps -- any way to lengthen the time I have
between?
also, I got some speech this morning that said a flotools update was
available
