Hello all,
I still need some clarification as far as my metering question. In my pro
tools preferences, I did set my peak meters to be infinite, but I am noticing
that what is happening is when I go to read the level on a track, for example,
in this case it is the master fader, my meters are jumping around. Like, it
might start at -3, and then jump up a minute or so later in the track to -6, so
the meter is going up instead of going down. I looked in my pro tools metering
preferences, and saw that we have 4 meters in pro tools. My meter type was set
to sample peak. But I saw that we also have the RMS meters, and also the pro
tools classic meters. I was thinking that the reason my meters might be doing
this is because I have them set to the wrong meter type in preferences. Hope
this makes sense. What do some of you have your meter type set to in metering
preferences if you are running pro tools 11 or 12? I would think this behavior
with my meters is not normal so I wanted to bring it to the list for some help.
 Thanks,
Brian
