We should avoid returning to a world where we map Puppet's `undef` value to Ruby's `nil` value. We used to do so in the past and it caused us a tremendous number of headaches. When working with the Puppet DSL from Ruby the value of undef is the Ruby symbol `:undef` and not the Ruby value `nil`.
