The patch in #18211 has fixed this issue for me. Unpatched hosts are still
intermittently failing, but all the hosts I patched have been working fine for
2 days now.

That looks like almost exactly what I'm seeing. I'll have to give that patch a
shot on a couple of the machines having problems on Monday.
