I use the line command from

Example:

    line { "logcheck: ignore sync":
        file    => "/etc/logcheck/ignore.d.server/local",
        line    => "stuff here",
        ensure  => present,
        require => File["/etc/logcheck/ignore.d.server/local"],
    }
