Registering a new session factory is easy once you have a bit of experience 
with pyramid.  It can be a bit overwhelming to a new set of eyes.  The OP 
wasn't familiar enough with Pyramid to see all the docs on custom 
factories, and spoke of "hooks" to handle a certain need.    Seeing up a 
proxy method is a simple short-term solution that can be implemented in a 
few minutes.  Once someone is familiar enough with Pyramid, it's also 
extremely simple to migrate to a custom factory.
