Dear all, Unfortunately having a similar problem with Suse10 and PyMOL. - Freshly installed Suse 10 (KDE3.4) system with binary of 0.99 pymol. - the weird thing is: pymol starts fine if logged in as root - logged in as a user (pymol was 'installed' as a user, not as root!) pymol crashes on start u

Thanks for the reply. "Irretrievably crashing" means that everything stops dead. The screen freezes, mouse/keyboard become unresponsive, the machine becomes unreachable (via ssh or even ping) from other workstations. Background processes instantaneously halt. A 'proper' crash in other words!
