This is fairly simple using ADO.
import win32com.client
dbname='tmp.mdb'
c=win32com.client.gencache.EnsureDispatch('adodb.connection',0)
c.Open("Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};Dbq=%s;" %dbname)
rs, rc=c.Execute('select tmp1 from tmp')
print rs.Fields[0].GetChunk(100)
Using AppendChunk on an updateable recordset should be just as simple.
