Personally I think it is fine to have C++ discussions on this list, simply
because we all know this list has evolved in scope. It is a bit misleading
still having the group called python inside Maya, but we also tend to talk
a lot about general Qt regardless of it being in Maya. Or we talk about

I don’t think it does, you’re only getting messages happening while you’re
logged in, unfortunately. :(

PS, is the IRC freenode.net channel a chat service-- does it have an
archive of discussions there like the one for the "Python Inside Maya" (or
really Maya API in Python and C++) group?

its description. I'm judging from a quick search and landing on pages like
this one:

something… At least I know I’m going to forget about that in case I ever
have a C++ related question, at least ;)

If the questioner is interested in views from the C++ community, then
putting a [C++] prefix in the *subject line* is one way of getting their
attention.

This is why I would lean towards making the c++ one separate and just have
it as a sister group to this one.

I certainly wouldn't go as far as to actually rename the group, it

How about a prefix, such as [C++] to questions involving C++? E.g.

Justin is the only maintainer of this list, as far as I know. But yeah,

I'm all for that, could it be put in the header of the group page? Are
there admins still active on here?

The name of this group will throw a lot of people and even if they do ask
C++ questions here, they are often prefixed with "I know it's a python
thread, but..". And as far as I know it isn't possible to rename Google
Groups.
And for me it is quite useful to be able to filter to just see one or
