I've had a quick look at the 1.7.2 code but it's not obvious to me why
you might be getting that error. My recommendation is that you try
using a later version of Pytrainer.

I run Crunchbang Linux which uses a Debian source and am having problems
getting Pytrainer to run.
I installed it from Synaptic Package Manager (version 1.7.2-1) and accepted
all relevant dependencies.
