After not building qemu (git version) for about 3 weeks, I've done it
again this morning.
With up-to-date trunk code, I got this error on start, when using
--soundhw all option
$ qemu-system-i386 -soundhw all
qemu-system-i386:
/home/fred/Téléchargements/logs/qemu-git/src/qe
Patch is ok, with this little warning when applied. Nothing really bad.
patching file qemu-options.hx
Hunk #1 succeeded at 2097 (offset 2 lines).
git head is :
http://git.qemu.org/?p=qemu.git;a=commit;h=73d4dc71f3a41131541c73b3ac2a8b160a51842b
Besides this, it builds perfectly.
Any hope to get

I vote a mistake in qemu patch. I was able to build qemu-git (I own the
package qemu-git on AUR) with texinfo 5.0 before the documentation patch
was added.

got this error :

I have some big problems with gwibber, and I thought (need some coffee)
that it was the gwibber bug I reported.
Bug is long dead. I think I stopped seeing it during 0.14.0 development
time.
And I as am using a git version of qemu and ubuntu when I want to
flawlessly, we can say : dead b
I forget to say : it is a gwibber bug I was thinking about ;)

Sorry, your "trick" doesn't work at all for me. I try to switch on / off
mouse capture in order to get it work. Nothing happens.
Any other idea ?
A freshly installed archlinux with gnome added works flawlessly.

When I try to move mouse cursor in qemu, pointer is frozen. Nothing is
moving.
