Hi, Christian. The way to do this is to download gcc-3.3.4.tar.gz from ftp.gnu.org. de-tar it and in the subdirectory that it creates: do a gcc -v to get all the compiled-in options from your current compiler and modify them to be a --prefix=/opt/gcc (you only need gcc, not G++,objc,ada,etc)
