according to the documentation (

the access is exclusive : wouldn't there be another process that would
monopolize the device ?

When I'm trying to create a image on nvme disk, i get an error message that
says:
➜ ~ qemu-img create -f qcow2 nvme://:87:00.0/1 1G
Formatting 'nvme://:87:00.0/1', fmt=qcow2 cluster_size=65536
