Could we please remove old repos, so that with 1.8 these problems will be
reduced?
I think we reached a general agreement on this, right?

you must add the ecw support to your gdal using the old er-mapper sdk.
It is quite easy to do that with the libgdal-ecw package in the
ubuntugis repository, too
Dear devs,
the rendering order in rule based style does not work any more, instead
features rendering is ordered by chance.
QGIS 1.8 RC 1 (code version c367a35) on OpenSUSE 11.4
anybody confirms?

Dear all,
another issue: QGIS Server is responding with an all-white map to a

Hi Francesco,
are you using osgeo4w? In that case I suggest you to have a look to the
startup .bat files (like C:\OSGeo4W\OSGeo4W.bat), that setup the right
evnironment (python pat, bin dires, etc.)
In general you have to add the various Qt and Qgis DLLs to the PATH, and
configure the python
Thanks Marco,
arghh, I knew there is this difference between 1.1.1 and 1.3.0
I was originally accessing QGIS Server from mapcache but there must have
been another issue.
Now all is working.

???
If you close the shell you loose the environmental variables.
OSGeo4W.bat sets env vars for the current shell, they're not kept as system
env vars.
You need those environmantal variables to leaverage

I've not yet been game to try 1.8 (I will soon) but with the OSGeo installer in
1.9 all of my rule based styles behave differently than in 1.7 because
rendering order/symbology levels are assumed.
Since that has been in 1.9 for a while I'd expect it to be 1.8 and I'd start
there.
-ramon.
Just to clarify things the old 1.9 now equals 1.8. If you are running
the dev build of QGIS you are running the upcoming 1.8 release.
So yes the new rule engine will be in 1.8.
