Well - it's actually a bug. The geometry shouldn't be getting fetched
here unless it's required. I looked into this a couple of weeks back
and there's a few issues in the caching mechanism w

No - it'
It's not an issue, it's the default behaviour :)

Unfortunately a fairly nasty regression has slipped in to 2.16 and is
still present on master. This results in shapefile corruption in
certain circumstances.
While I've hit this issue maybe 3 or 4 times in the last 2 months, I
haven't been able to track down exactly what causes this. It seems

I've found that the context.coordinateTransform() can be null, so it is not a
way of determining the layer CRS.
I'm not sure how well setting the CRS on renderer creation will work either, as
it can be created from the UI, from paste style, from loading a style directly,
etc...
It may be possib
Hi everybody,

Will I get hover events in a object that is inherited from QgsMapCanvasItem?
I created a class derived from QgsMapCanvasItem and implemented the three
methods hover events.
When instantiating the class I pass it a mapcanvas, and set the
acceptHoverEvents to true.
I also implemented the bounding
Hi Matthias,
sorry seems I was not clear. 2.5D geometries not renderer.
When you paster features from shapefile which has 2.5D
geometry type (e.g. Point25D) to memory layer they
automatically converted to flat geometry type (Point), see
https://github.com/qgis/QGIS/blob/master/src/app/qgisapp.cpp
Are you sure the layer variables for the height and angle expressions are also
set?

Hi all,
anyone knows are there any reason not to support 2.5D geometries in memory
layers? Currently, for example when pasting 2.5D geometries to memory layer
they converted to flat type potentially lossing information.
Thanks
