After some googling, it turned out that sqlite should be compiled with SQLITE_ENABLE_COLUMN_METADATA preprocessor flag as mentioned in https://sqlite.org/compile.html. It would be very useful if this detail is added to the installation instructions. After this fix, QGIS build successfully complete
