Just a quick warning in advance: Qt upstream has decided to drop
support for Windows 7 with the next release of Qt [1]. It's the right
move, given that Windows 7 is EOL and no longer supported by
Microsoft, but it will affect QGIS users in the future.

@hrdrckx does a feature request for a button in view>decorations>grid to
set the color.
My idea first was to point @hrdrckx to the 'Create Grid' processing
