Dear D Pardhu.
You should be able to find your answer to these question(s) in the Python
cookbook:
http://qgis.org/pyqgis-cookbook/
In particular the Loading Vector Layers chapter (OGR library):

Welcome Chingchai
I have recently reinstalled qgis 1.9.0 master without any problems. Which
options did you choose in advanced install? Did you unselect the GRASS option?
I think this is needed to run the qgis-dev.bat.

Which version of QGIS are you using? Are you using code exactly as in the
cookbook (Using Vector Layers chapter?)?. If not, can you provide the code?
Also how did you create the symbology?

Hi
I am not a QGIS user or a QGIS developer (of the C++ variety), I am also not
(currently) developing a plugin for the QGIS repository, but I am developing a
QGIS plugin in Python that will be used by other QGIS users. Maybe I am missing
something, but it seems like there is a niche between th

Hi
I asked the following question at gis.stackexchange.com, but had no luck so

A similar methodology could apply to developing the related Hydrological
toolbox
(http://hub.qgis.org/wiki/quantum-gis/Hydrology_and_Hydraulic_modelling). I
would also be interested in contributing to such a toolbox and using any
available models.
I am wary of writing plugin code (as I have s
OK, I found the answer to my sub question:
iface.legendInterface().setLayerVisible(vlayer,False)
This time I found the answer from this link:

But QgsLegendInterface is not referenced in QgsVectorLaye

Bernhard - I don't think your problem is unique - I have also been trying to do
the same thing and spent a long time looking through the docs (particularly the
API for QgsVectorLayer) to find the solution. I think one problem is that I was
looking for something like "Query" as in

I am having problems signing in to hub.qgis.org to update the wiki or report
a bug. I am getting Invalid user or password. Probably I have forgotton the
password. I have tried emailing i...@osgeo.org, but got no response. Is
there someone from qgis who can reset the password?
