Um I am confused - it looks like Alex Bruy has already applied that
patch in d750abfa2bfb197cde8e ( http://hub.qgis.org/issues/3866#note-4
) so am I missing something or can we close this?

yes I test and then applied Sergey's patch some time ago, because
there are no feedback from other developers. Also I port this bugfix
into release_1_7_0 branch.
Regarding ticket, I think it is already closed (can't check, because
that hub.qgis.org is down now)
