There are not error or warning messages in the SEXTANTE log.
Just the run.alg instruction and then seems to be processing but nothing
happens, after a while the QGIS closes.

Other SEXTANTE providers have that check, not just checking usual
places, but in some cases even running a tiny sample algorithm and
check it returns a result.
I will add a similar one to the TauDEM provider

TauDEM is a nice thing to work with ..
Could there be somewhat like a "check" made that checks for the existence
in "usual" places and if TauDEM is not found pop up pa warning with "You
have to install TauDEM by yourself in order to get TauDEM running"?

as Victor already said, you need to install and configure TauDEM by
yourself. Please note,
that currently TauDEM provider supports only version 5.0.6 of TauDEM.
If you have TauDEM installed, but plugin don't work, try to execute
same command directly
in console and look if it works.

Did you install and configure TauDEM? Unlike SAGA or GRASS, it is not
automatically installed with QGIS for windows when you use the OSGeo4W
installer
