I'm testing --configpath option in master and 1.8. Behaviour is different
(Windows):
- 1.8: using -- configpath option moves only profile (.qgis. gdal param,
etc). Qsettings stay in system location (registry for Windows)
- 1.9: using -- configpath moves profile + registry.
Is that normal
The current 1.9 master is the correct behavior. It is designed so that you
can have a portable self contained settings folder. This enables it to be
run from a USB without touching the users registry.

Correcting myself, QGIS_PLUGINPATH error was a false error due to
