Don't get me wrong: QGIS 3 is great. The version 2.1 feature I will miss, though, is the Browser. I found it very useful for quickly inspecting coverages (I'm dating myself) to see what information they contain, and how useful they might be to a particular project, without having to add them to

The answer turns out to be that, while QGIS can extract and process layers from
a zipfile, the R scripts can't. Once I extracted the layers and added them to
QGIS, the R scripts worked.

When I try to run the R script "Summary statistics" in QGIS 2.12.1 on a Windows
7/64 bit machine, I get the error message "error in if (!file.info(DSN)$isdir)
DSN missing value where TRUE/FALSE needed," and the output file is empty. (The
results viewer opens, but all it contains is the heading,
in the legend? If
not, I would like to suggest this as a feature for a new version of QGIS.

I'm not sure what I've done differently, but I managed tonight to get the
projections to overlap. The counties vector layer appears to have been
reprojected to WGS84, and the display projection is NAD 83 (EPSG: 2992). I
tried to duplicate this in a second instantiation of QGIS, so far
other projections, such
as NAD83: Oregon Lamber (feet) (EPSG 2992). Regardless, the counties layer
always displays below (south) of the raster layer in the map window.
Can someone help me figure out how to get these layers to superimpose in a
geographically appropriate manner?
