Hi Jürgen I install with a prefix: /usr/local/qgis. In this prefix there are no old qgis-libs. I found some old qgis-libs in /usr/local/lib and /usr/lib from a former install out of a package and removed them now, but no effect :-( About the nightly builds: do you mean to update the sip stuff

Hi Els, in addtion of the answers others gave earlier. there is a python plugin called 'MultiQml', with which you can tell QGIS to use one qml/style file for several different layers. This works if you have a lot of layers which use the exact same symbology: you can style them in one go.
