Hi everybody,
I have a question about MapServer and PostGIS.
Im working on a project which involves OpenSource. I have managed to plot
nearly all layers except three. after 1 month of trying there is no hope for
these 3 layers to display, but the layers are loaded well in QGIS.
I have tried to d

My reply specifically covered QGIS 1.6 on Ubuntu 10.04 from
repositories. Issues due to self compilation are way outside that scope.
For those interested we can discuss them more on the developer list.
Thanks,

Hi Alex,
Thanks a lot! Yes you point to two of my problems, I had first problem
with one of my qgis and another with another qgis:
1) The problem I cannot solve is to compile myself qgis 1.7.0rc knowing
that the gdal I have was upgraded to 1.8.0. Could you please tell me if
you know how to switch b

That error message seems to have some good clues. Did you recently run
ubuntu's update tool?
I would open synaptic and go the the libtiff package and see which
versions are available to you. I wonder if you self compiled or grabbed
a gdal version that wasn't from ubuntu or ubuntugis, so check what
Thanks for pointing this out Mayeu! Let's wait, sure they're upon it.
Meanwhile i have been using gdal to convert from tif to other formats.. so
the work is flowing still :)

Hi
I started working on a dimension lines plugin:
Select two points, then choose the length of the help lines and a start
and/or endoffset. The startoffset is the distance between the start of
the help lines (or the main/dimension line if the length of the help
lines is 0). The endoffset is used
Hi,
I mentioned that Ubuntu users cannot open tiffs anymore, on the dev
mailing list 2 days ago [1].
Let's hope someone there knows how to solve this!

I have OSX git info in the INSTALL doc in the source, but of course you need to
get the source from git...
Simple, no git needed:
Go to http://github.com/qgis/Quantum-GIS
Click the "Downloads" button.
Click the "Download .tar.gz" button in the dialog that pops up.

You might want to take a look at Github (https://github.com/).

There maybe a symbol changing fix to keep QGIS from crashing on symbol

I have built QGIS from SVN on my Mac, no need to figure out Git and how to
