I will look at it.
Thx!

Hi,
Our line layer has about 700 lines in it (PostGIS db) and basically
this would take a lot of time to do it by hand ...
if your data in a PostGIS Db then you can use it, examples:
Hy there,
I need a 1:n relation (join) between a point shapefile to an table, (points =
drill hole) in the related table the geological layers .
So by selecting a point all the layers should be shown in the table.
By trying so far is there only an 1:1 relation possible in QGIS?

Hi Daniela

Yes, currently the number of features is not changed by the join, so
only 1:1 possible.

Marco

Hi,
If your data is in Postgis you can do it with a Postgis view. QGIS can
currently only do 1:1/1:0 joins, no 1:n joins.

Hi Agus,
Thanks for your prompt reply. I did think about this and tried it out too.
I have 1 sq.km gridded raster data. When I am converting the grid to
polygons in quantum GIS the polygons having the same values are being
joined together. Thus, I am not getting separate one km2 polygons which I
Hi Tilo,
You could create a regular point grid that fits your raster cell size and
then sample the raster using these points.
Best wishes,
Anita

Hi,
Is there a 'raster to point' tool like the one in ArcGIS in
Quantum GIS or GRASS gis. I require points for all grids and not
only sampled points.

Use Vector/Research Tools/Vector grid to make a grid coincident with
the pixels of your raster (update extents from layer and select the
size of the grid to the exact size of the pixels), then get the centroids.
