Hi Everyone,
Has anybody else noticed that UTF-8 is broken?
most of my mapping work has been focused on Vietnam, which has a bunch of
accents and what not.
I have not had this problem up until today- usually importing and exporting
as utf-8 will handle all of my characters beautifully.

in shell and in QGIS add vector layer) Esri file geodatabases- which was
great!
I tried to do the same yesterday but couldn't. in the OSGeo shell 'ogrinfo

If you want to copy a raster layer, use the normal tools you'd use to copy any

If you want to translate it to another file format or another CRS, use the
tools in the raster menu.

I'm having problems with my installed version of Quantum GIS (Union
does not work) in windows. I came to understand that its probably
something about my installation. And that developer version of QGIS
will work correctly.
So, I wanted to fully uninstall QGIS (previously installed by

if you use gdal 1.9 the gdalecw should also be somewhat with 1.9 .. it's
not likely to work with lower versions..
So i guess you just have to wait for an update

Where are you trying to download it from? OGR converter was removed
some time ago from the source tree of QGIS because
kml and qgs are two different things.
kml is a file format, like shapefile.
qgis is a Qgis project.
The two formats refer to completely different things :)
You should be able to open the kml file with Qgis, as any other vector file
supported by OGR. Then you can export it to whatevere else file fo
