i have a slightly removed object in a layer (someone did this
accidentialy while edditing) but i have another layer that has some
identical boundries. all i want to do is: using the move-tool and snap
the displaced objekt in layer_1 to a vertex of the corect object in layer_2.

When you say large, do you mean such a large area or large dataset.
I've worked a couple of projects that had some overlap into other utm
zones, data was stored in lats and longs and reprojected to utm for
measurements. Where we needed to measure between zones we lived with the
