Hi Nathan,
I think #64 by Andyzendy would work better if there was a little more space
between the Q and the u. They are really close now.
Also #50 used RGB: 43, 42, 41 which looks more sophisticated than the pure
black in #64.
I also get what Mathieu said about the typical "web mapping marker" a
Thanks for the help given and after a bit of try and see, I managed to
get qgis v1.8 to red ECW files. The advice given in
http://www.faunalia.com/content/adding-ecw-support-quantum-gis was what
did the trick.

Hey All,
We are starting some really nice looking logos in the logo comp. There are
a few there that I really like. We can give feedback and ratings to any of
the logos in order to shape the direction that the designers take. By the
looks of it only I can comment and rate however once we have a
What I do is:
1. Start a map with CRS in Lat-Long (EPSG 4326).
2. Create a new printing design and insert the map. This is map 0.
3. Take note about the scale of this map.
4. Return to the working area and change the CRS to UTM 17s (this is my
zone - you select your zone)
5. Return to the created
Tks, that solves it.

It's just the Sextante plugin which is broken. Removing line 59
from /usr/share/qgis/python/plugins/sextante/core/Sextante.py seems to fix
it --not really tested but at least it can be loaded without errors.

I guess that QGIS allows displaying a scale bar in km on a map in degrees.

Hi
I've cropped GTOPO30 W020N90 to 3*3 pixels geo tiff:

It contains the steepest slope in Europe, in Switzerland, at 711 m
resolution.
I reprojected W020N90 to Lambert azimuthal equal area projection with

Couldn't load plugin 'sextante' from ['/usr/share/qgis/python',

The .qgis or .qgis2 folders contains only the plugins (in
/.qgis/python/plugins) and the SQLite file(/.qgis/qgis.db) which contains
only the projections. The custom general settings (layout, PostGIS, wms,
etc.) are saved in:
