Another problem is that it seems that most of Linux users (Ubuntu and
derivate) are without a working SAGA package. For example in ubuntugis
there is no precise (LTS) SAGA 2.0.8 package, and in the Johan Van de
Wauw PPA repository there is SAGA 2.1 but it is not working (see

Hy guys,
has anyone an idea why the decimal numbers of the attribute table are
not read by libreoffice? If I open the dbf file, the number, e.g., 6.56
in qgis in libreoffice appear as 6.00.
Nothing happens if I change the encoding when loading the file in
libreoffice. I try: UTF-8, ISO-8859-1
THere is is that problem, but it currently affects just a few
algorithms (althought it might get worse if there are more diffs
between the syntax of other algoithms). I guess that is a minor issue
compared with some people not being able to use SAGA at all.

SpatialLite is built into QGIS :)
I was going to write a query for you but seems I did it in the past :)

Just change STContains to STIntersects

Having no SpatialLite or PostGIS I will give it a try in SQLSpatial -
I've dug out the OGC Methods and will see if one of those can help me!
Thanks

Hi all
Found my own answer. In case you're interested, If you use the
following: format_date("Date",'') (putting your date column name in
the italics) then it identifies the day of the week from the date
supplied. Happy Days!

If you can add them to something like SpatialIte it will be easier.

What type of dataset are you using. You can do this in Python in QGIS but
a SQL query might be easier.

Hello
Is there a way to calculate the total sum of points that
intersect/overlap a particular line - so I can add a column to my line
dataset that tells me x number of points intersect/overlap this
particular line.
Thanks

Hi
I have a dataset that has the date column within it, does anyone know of
a way to identify the day of the week that the date relates to so if
01-01-2013 is a Tuesday I want to create an extra column to display the
day name.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks!

There is currently no option for selecting multiple fields. You can
add a string input which can be used to enter a comma-separated list
of field names. Ju
Dear QGIS Users,
I am writing some first r-scripts with R in Sextante. Most things work fine,
however, I would be happy if someone could answer any of the following
questions for which I did not find any answer:
