Hi,
in my search for means to create more complex labelling, I stumbled upon
the option for the Text Edit widget to check Multiline which enables a
HTML checkbox.
As I only find zero description on that feature, I wonder what it is good
for, cause using it only yields strange results:
Hi there,
ok, I seem to understand the first flaws after creating a spatialite layer
and activating the HTML for my label field.
Obviously there is a complete html phrase created around my data input,
and my normal shape text field was too short to hold that.
Anyway, the label now shows
Dear Nicolas,
The contents on the website are way too complicated for an untrained person
like me. So I have to resort to Andre's suggestion.
Thanks

Andre,
It works brilliantly (though I can not make any sense on the addition due
to my limited knowledge).
Now, my two shapefiles - one in RSO and another one in WGS 84 - overlay
perfectly. No more shift like before (when I used the Kertau RSO/RSO Malaya

Hi, Christof!
I didn't practice 3D for a while and I'm not a geek either.
QGIS does not explicitely treat vectorial 3D information, but some
(many?) tools treat the vectors without losing Z values.
Besides, QGIS evolves so fast that it is difficult to keep track of the
way it handles z

Hi,
thanks for that hint.
Could be that 'my' problem is related to the other problems calculating the
correct area in QGIS.
The 'right way' to calculate areas in QGIS seems
I am a new user and trying to teach myself about QGIS using the 2.8 Training

But even with the very first exercise the shp file it ask you to load have

Hi Martin
Good question.
I assume, you are referreing to the official Training Manual [1]?
You could ask this question also on gis.stackexchange.com [2].

Hi,
I am assuming QGIS cannot read this projection?
You are right, the projection name is not known for QGIS.
The WKT string for Kertau RSO is:
PROJCS[Kertau (RSO) / RSO Malaya (m),
GEOGCS[Kertau (RSO),
DATUM[Kertau_RSO,
I took a look at the materials:
* Make sure you get the training_manual_exercise_data.zip from

* My first exercise (and I may be guilty of skipping ahead) was here:

Dear Andre,
Is it possible, because of the different WKT string specification, my shape
files was misaligned for about 200 meters to 300 meters when I chose Kertau
(RSO)/RSO Malaya (m) (EPSG:3168) as the projection (OTF)?
In view of that issue, can you advise me if I
