[Qgis-user] Hydrology

2015-08-14 Thread Matt Boyd
Hi List, I need to work out some channels and hydrology things from a topography DEM. I've done a little bit of this before but if there's a how to or a tutorial on the correct process / work flow that someone could point me at I'd appreciate it. Basically I need to work out that if I have rainfal

Hi Matt, Just finished my lessons at this minute – in Hydrology ☺ We use DTM Create: · Hillshade with factor 2 · Use Fill Sinks (Wang& Lui) on DTM · Create a bluespot in Rastercalculator FilledDEM – DTM. Style and set transparency to 0 · Use Channelnetwork & Drainage B

[Qgis-user] Control Layers using Atlas

2015-08-14 Thread Thomas Colley
Hi Is it possible to use Atlas to print out a number of maps each showing a different layer instead of a different area of interest? I'm thinking the atlas layer would have the same area of interest polygon duplicated with an attribute that holds the layer name(s) to be displayed. I'm sure I h

Hello Thomas, I had that need aswell. If data defined properties were made possible in the map composer lock preset option, that would be something direct to do. Just occured that one might somehow achieve that by transforming each layer's symbology into a rule-based symbology, and set a general

Hi Alexandre I think the rule based symbology would work but I’m trying to print a series of raster layers so unfortunately that’s not an option this time. Thanks for your help, I’ll keep looking into it and let you know if I find anything. Tom From: Alexandre Neto [mailto:senhor.n...@gma

Hi, That would be nice to have. I also need to create a series of maps for the same map extent but different time stamps. I have 12 different topographic maps from different years and need to create series for different parts of my town. Each raster layer corresponds to a certain year. I don

Hi Andreas, That’s exactly what we are trying to do here. I haven’t looked at QGIS Server, that sounds really cool though. Thanks Tom From: Neumann, Andreas [mailto:a.neum...@carto.net] Sent: 14 August 2015 12:12 To: Thomas Colley Cc: qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org Subject: Re: [Qgis-user] Control

[Qgis-user] Base directory for images for QGIS-server

2015-08-14 Thread Tom Palan
hi, I successfully setup the QGIS-server & QGIS-web-client, and I am now trying to get printouts working. Everything works so far, except the path where QGIS-server is looking for images files is /usr/lib/cgi-bin (the work directory). I do not want to specify absolute paths in the print compose

Hi Tom, Do you mean images embedded in a print composer? If yes, just copy them along with the project file. This should work. Place them relative to the .qgs file (e.g. in the same folder as the .qgs or with an additional folder hierarchy). Just make sure that the relative paths are the sam

Hi, I made a few tests and, it works well for vector layer. All you need is the right coverage layer, a top rule in all layers that you need to controlo. Like you said, Yhis does not work for raster layer, neither it work for vector renderers like ppint displacement or heatmap. Also using legend

[Qgis-user] scale of features on screen = real scale?

2015-08-14 Thread Carlos Grohmann
Hi all I just noticed that setting a given scale in QGIS does not result in seeing the features on screen at that scale. For instance, if I set the scale to 1:500.000, a feature measuring 100km should have 20cm on the screen (or printed). But to get close to that, I must set the scale to 260.000

Hi Carlos, There are a few parameters that can influence this behavior. First of all you should check if the projection is suitable for the region you are inspecting. Then there is also the DPI setting which can influence how things are scaled when sent to the screen. And finally, can you check

It would. I also thought that the same could be done to layer groups. Still, I would prefer to see data-defined properties for locking layer (presets) in map items in the map composer. It would be much easier to pick a few layers, create a few presets, and them "iterare" them in atlas. Em sex, 14
