[Qgis-user] How to 'difference' in existing layer

Hi I have two layers of polygons I want to make holes in the first layer using the second layer as mask. I can do this by function ‘Difference’ – but the result is a third layer. I would like the holes in the polygons to be in the first (existing) layer. Any suggestions ☺ Regards Lene Fischer

Hi, just saw that there is now a SAGA update offered from 2.27 to 2.31 from ubuntugis. As I had almost always trouble with those updates, I now would like to ask beforehand if this will break again the functionalities of the toolbox, or if it is save to install. Or if there are workarounds
