I'm not aware of any systematic comparison of memory consumption for MapInfo, QGIS and ArcGIS On my Windows 10 (64 bit / 48 GB Ram) QGIS consumes around 200 MB on startup. And around 400 MB with a  (for me) typical QGIS scenario with 10 GeoPackage based layers and a WMS. I do not find that exc
