Oh my, QGis without GIS functionalities...
Not with on-board resources, I'm afraid, but some thoughts:
In QGis/PyQGis (script/plugin):
- connect the QgsVectorLayer::editingStarted-signal to
disable/remove/hide the vertex-tool-icon and the "Advanced Digitizing
Toolbar"
- connect the QgsVec
I made some custom SVG symbols for a project I’m working on and I’ve had
success using parameters to control fill, stroke, and stroke-width.
However, I have text in the symbols that I would like to rotate to face
straight up no matter what angle the whole symbol is facing.

No, that would be a very hard computer vision problem because of the
styles and overlays. You will be faster and more accurate if you
recreate an approximation of the hexagonal grid and then retrace all
polygons manually using those cells.

elevation data should be in the “dmr5g” default layer. But I can confirm that
this layer only delivers transparent pixels (while the legend image shows that
elevation information should be available between 9.76 and 1603.17. May be you
