Prehaps you need the same. Check:

One way would be to TIN interpolate the points to a raster. Convert the
contour lines to points and TIN interpolate them also to raster. Then
subtract the two raster maps with the raster calculator to see the
difference visualized.

The location is the same - Nødebo - for the QGIS user conference and
developer meeting.
BTW: If you plan to frequent the center of Copenhagen be aware of minimum 1
hour of public transport each way.

I believe the only option would be to use something like the QGIS Field
calculator to create and update a new int column with the string column
values.

To my knowledge no, but you can databind the wrap on character, so you can
have a wrap on character separate for each record.

You can also uploade shape file data with pgAdmin plugin 'PostGIS shape filer
and DBF loader'. Then you can test your connection settings by loading to
QGIS (and not uploading data).

When I run the PostGIS Manager plugin in QGIS 1.8 (OSGeo4W installation) I

Is there any way of measuring the line length on the fly while drawing the line?
I have a starting point and need to draw say a 1,234 km long vector
line on top of a raster map in lat long degrees.
Are there other alternatives?
Cheers,
Jakob
