Any chance you could answer this question b
Interestingly, I don't seem to have OSM plugin on
my version 2.0.1. I don't see it under Installed
and I don't see it under Get more, though there is
an OSMEditorRemoteControl in the Get more tab.
How do I get it on ver 2.0.1 QGIS - Win64 version?

Thanks!

calculate the population density.
Any problems I can send it offline.

Gill,
When using Adobe Illustrator an exported SVG from Print Compose works

Hi Andreas,
Many thanks for your extensive response which makes some very good
points and has enlightened me on recent improvements that exist in v2.0.
I will take on board your suggestions and also monitor more closely the
posts on the QGIS list and on GIS stackexchange.

Dear Users,
Am I correct in thinking that it is currently not possible to convert a
QGIS project file (.qgs) to an ArcGIS map file (.mxd).
I know it can be done in reverse using the MXD2QGS Tool in ArcToolbox.

I do like the idea of having a qgis project file or python rendering tool to

It sounds like that the USGS DLG might be better suited than Tiger, though
it is outdated. The DLG is a more similar product type to the LINZ topo and
Canvec stuff.
DLG is being replaced by the nationalmap.gov stuff - see products and
services on left side, as well as ustopo (which uses data from
I will say, I use GlobalMapper and I quite enjoy the ability for that
program to open .gz files. The other advantage is gml seems to compress
well, so some may prefer to store it in that format. A .gz format file isn't
as common in the windows world, so some people will find it a slight
challenge.
I should have added more to the email...it was the "tasks" section. Though
the one you linked to is good as well.
