[Qgis-user] QGIS 2.14.6 installs in 2.17 folder

2016-09-02 Thread Ross McDonald
Hi List, I've just installed QGIS 2.14.6 8e19f72 from the standalone installer and by default it installed in C:\Program Files\QGIS 2.17 and created a QGIS 2.17 folder on the desktop. Anyone else noticed that? I also installed QGIS 2.16.2 and it installed correctly in a QGIS 2.16 folder. Ross

Re: [Qgis-user] Tagging Dead Ends

2016-05-30 Thread Ross McDonald
Hi Adam You could load the data into PostGIS and use pgRouting to build a network topology and then use the built-in pgRouting functions to analyse the graph for dead ends. Then invert your selection. See http://docs.pgrouting.org/2.0/en/src/common/doc/functions/analyze_graph.html for more

Hi Tom, Several things come to mind: * all installed on the same machine? How many cores? 64bit? * are you trying to route across your network or just draw the features? * if you are routing you can try using a bounding box on your query to limit the number of features returned. * have you run

[Qgis-user] WMS/GeoWebCache image quality in QGIS

2014-08-20 Thread Ross McDonald
Hi List, I am trying to work out why there is a deterioration in image quality when I load pre-seeded cached tiles from Geowebcache into QGIS. I have a Geoserver (v2.5) cluster and an external GWC (v1.5) configured to use the GS WMS. GS supplies the tiles to GWC as PNG, building them from a

Re: [Qgis-user] TAB file export

2014-06-11 Thread Ross McDonald
Hi Brett Can you convert the shapefile to mapinfo (TAB or MIF/MID?) on the command line with ogr2ogr? Can you upgrade to QGIS 2.2 or wait a couple of weeks for 2.4? It uses a new version of GDAL/OGR. Have you checked http://www.gdal.org/drv_mitab.html for possible error sources? And see

Yes, I can confirm this on QGIS master on Windows 7 writing to PostgreSQL 9.2.6 with PostGIS 2.1 Seems to be passing a blank string rather than a NULL to the date field. You beat me to it - I was just about to write the same email... Ross On 9 Jun 2014, at 17:12, Alexandre Neto wrote:
