Hey folks,
Thought I would update the list on these two plugins.
The GeoRSS plugin can consume georss feeds, and comes with samples. The
CSW plugin comes with sample catalogue that you can search by bounding
box and keywords

Well, I assume that the two plugins I posted will remain in the wild as they
are designed from a tester's point of view and from an educational point of
view.
I would say that plugins that are general enough to benifit ,majority of QGIS
users make it to the core. For the other SPECIALIZED plu
Hey Folks,
Lots of info our there of how to get plugins FROM repos, but I can't
find the info of how to create the XML needed to get your repo into the
plugin installer.
I am sure it is a page on the wiki that just has not been linked.
I have of course looked at and outright copied various XML's
Hey Folks,
Well the second plugin of the community plugin repo has been released.
It deals with CSW (catalogue services for the web), an OGC spec for
searching catalogues.
There is a text file the comes shipped with the plugin of a few CSW
servers that may be of interest.

Hey Folks... Read an older thread

I noticed that the thread mentioned you can load KML files... fair

Well Folks,
I took the liberty of going ahead and setting up a sourceforge project
to house multiple plugin projects.
Let me know if you want a chunk of the repo. The faster I relinquish

Hope this helps

As I am going through creating some plugins and learning about OWS
services and trying my hand at a catalogue plugin I got to thinking,
what does the open source world do for managin their metadata on their
desktop?
I know and quite like projects like geo-network and our own flavou

Is there a co-ordinated effort o house multiple QGIS plugins in the same

I am thinking specifically of python plugins that deal with OGC type
services.
Sourceforge is a classic option

Hey Folks,
I want to call the WFS plugin (which is a DLL from what I can tell) from
a python plugin.
I see there is a function in the interface I might be able to exploit
but can't figure it out.
Self.iface.pluginMenu()
It returns a virtual qmenu but can't tell what to do next...

Hey Folks,
My CSW plugin is coming along nicely, and now is fully integrated with the
newly added csw.py library from OWSLIB (a modules stacked full of fuctions for
working with web services) This library makes OWS services so easy that I
won't be surprised if someone beats me to releasing

Hey Folks,
I am working on a plugin that wants to take the result and pass it to
other plugins.
One plugin is the WMS tool... OK it may no longer be a plugin but that
is how I am considering it.
I am playing with the OGC CSW spec to make a CSW client for inside

What I want to do is this
