I run GIS Mapping with Photogrammetry using Pix4D Desk Top Mapper to process the data into deliverable files for the construction industry. While the deliverables are easy to open and manipulate in Civil Cad, not all construction companies have Civil Cad SW. With these companies, I share the Pix4D Cloud version. That covers it pretty well. BUT!! sometimes I need to just share files for use in QGIS.
While QGIS is simple enough with the Ortho. Contours, Elevations and Distances; I cannot break into Cut/Fill Volumes using the new Volume Calculation Tool. I am trying to attain the volume of a large on-site pond. No problem with Pix4D but cannot with QGIS. My Pix4D Z files are: DTM (DSM) Tif and Contour DXF and SHP I have no problem creating the Polygon but cannot place any of the factors together to obtain accurate volume with QGIS. Which is 6.7 million gallons. Can anyone help??
