Hi
I am getting errors trying to use the Time Manager plugin (version 0.6).
I 've got a shape file with events expected to happen in (very) future
years. I have made a text attribute with times like 2034-01-01 00:01:00.000
(only the year part is of interest).
I don't add any End Time or Offset
Hi,
Please open a ticket at https://github.com/anitagraser/TimeManager/issues.
Please add information about which Python version QGIS is using.
Thanks,
Anita

This sounds very interesting, but the devil is in the details, I suppose.
Of course it is! ;)
Let's fight it...

You might like to have a look at a set of data + simple GIS exercises

We all have! This was quite a long time ago, though, I must admit I
haven't used grass for quite a long time now. I should redo some of

I start another thread, based on the discussion about time manager dataset.

Very good point. Probably you can have 2 versions with data and
without data. I suggest that probably you can put a link, a button to
get the sample data in one of the plugin widgets. These
Hi Pierre,
This is very good idea.
I myself don't deal with raster data at this moment, hence, all those
plugins dealing with raster is no use to me at this moment.

Let see the developers feedbacks on your suggestions.

Additional points for discussion:
- application domain - QGIS is a general purpose tool. A biologist, a
geologist, a local government or a small community would have very

Thanks a lot Anita and Volker!
great tool!
Any special reason not to share it through the standard repo?
+1 for adding it to the repos, if possible.
Cheers!

Hi Giovanni!
My plan was to add it to the repos when it reaches beta status. But if you
think we should add it now, I'll discuss it with Volker.
Best wishes,
Anita

I wouldn't want to force people to download sample data of any kind.

Hi,
I'm happy to present to you the first version of Time Manager plugin for
QGIS, developed by Volker Fröhlich and myself.
The aim of Time Manager plugin is to provide comfortable browsing through
temporal geodata. A dock widget provides a time slider and a configuration

Great tool Anita !
I'll give it a try as soon as possible, is the time limit a choice or

What kind of limit do you mean? The limit in the range of time, or the limit
in time frame size, as mentioned in the Wiki? Or do you mean the limit in
formats?

If you need a script to
Yes, that's related to Python's datetime module. But the limit only exists for
real dates. You may not need that precision for dates beyond those borders.
We're likely to make the plug-in accept numeric values. That should do for
cases, where really long periods of time are observed. It will
