Hi
SDE can configure datasets to use either the SDE geometry type or native
database geometry formats. This is up to the SDE admin to control.
The attribute data can sometimes be coded and the real values are stored as
domain values. These can be queried out within the database if necessary
using
Hi Jürgen,
I suspect that you are right! I used this old modules for a one time
job, to do the migration from SDE to Postgresql.
I would say that it is not possible to handle SDE data directly from
QGIS any more (using standard GDAL builds).
But someone else might have an alternative solution.

But only as migration path, right? I suppose those old GDAL modules do
Thanks Jürgen,
I guess some clarification is in order as to whether this is actually SDE
(older) or what is referred to now as Enterprise. There are also levels of
Enterprise as well.
Feature classes created through the ArcGIS interface can been seen in the
Spatial tab of an SSMS query. I have

Really? I thought SDE would use proprietary data structures in the database
instead of the database's native geometry representa
Hey Roberto,
It would actually be a SQL or Oracle DBMS connection, whichever your SDE is
sitting on top of.

Hi,
I would like to open a layer in QGIS from ArcSDE in Oracle. Once I did it and
found really useful. But somehow I lost this ability of QGIS and miss it so
much. Is there anything I could try?
Many thanks,
Agnes

There almost 2 types of arcsde layers.
The single Layers
and the geodatabases's layers.
The first is quite simple because every dataset (table) is isolated from others
datasets (tables).
The second is more complex because use all the GDB tables to understand the GIS
constraints between all t
UDig is the only open source Desktop GIS that can do this. I've done this,
and can confirm that it works for viewing/editing (normally $10k of ESRI
software is required to do just this). It just takes some setting up and
getting the correct versions and JARs together.
I've had less luck with OGR A
Hello All,
Do we have any plugin available in QGIS to interface with ArcSDE?
