Hi Joe, some things you could try: - rename the .qgis-folder in your home, and start qgis (which will then make a new one. You can then see if this still happens without all the plugins (which qgis can't see now because they are in the renamed folder) - if still crashing. Try removing the 'p

Hi, I also stumbled into this problem with qgis 1.4 installed in the Ubuntu 9.04 machine of a colleague. In my case a fresh 9.10 install did the trick, but I guess that this is not really a solution for this problem... I also asked in the qgis-dev mailing list, but no ideas have surfaced. cheer

Hello: I am using QGIS version 1.4 on Ubuntu 9.10. When I click on "fetch Pyhton plugins" the QGIS app disappears(crashes) I deleted all traces of the old version before installing QGIS 1.4 I tried sudo qgis to make sure it was not a permissions issue and it still crashed This is what I get when
